Guetzloe Suing Orlando Sentinel

guetzloe With the grand jury finished examining the Expressway Authority and the Comptroller's audit complete, Doug Gueztloe is filing suit against the Orlando Sentinel over his role in the problems at the toll agency.

Attorney Fred O'Neal says they've filed a slander suit against the newspaper, in part for the editorial page saying he was a political pariah, and political sleaze.

"If there is actual malice on the part of the media toward a public figure, there can be liability."

Guetzloe also says they called his payments from Ron Pecora "hush money." He got a second contract from Pecora even though they canceled his town hall meetings.

"If a client is pleased with you and say 'Yes, we want to renew your contract,' who am I to say 'Well, let's not do it?'"

Guetzloe wants a jury and more than $15,000 in damages. The Sentinel would not comment.
